Louisville Jockeys stayed in it until the end, but Owensboro RiverDawgs pulled away late in an 8-5 victory on Wednesday. The game was tied at four with Owensboro RiverDawgs batting in the top of the sixth when Ethan P doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

Owensboro RiverDawgs got things moving in the second inning when Garrett Mathews induced Koy C to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

After Owensboro RiverDawgs scored one run in the top of the ninth, Louisville Jockeys answered with one of their own. Owensboro RiverDawgs scored when Reece D doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. Louisville Jockeys then answered when an error scored one run for Louisville Jockeys.

Owensboro RiverDawgs took the lead for good with four runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Jacob W hit a solo homer and Johnathon L singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Louisville Jockeys notched three runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by Louisville Jockeys was led by Max Samson and RJ Latkowski, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Dereck M got the start for Owensboro RiverDawgs. The ace surrendered four runs on four hits over five innings, striking out five.

Mathews led things off on the pitcher's mound for Louisville Jockeys. The righty surrendered three runs on four hits over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Steven Thom, Robby Arnett, and Matt Armstrong each contributed in relief for Louisville Jockeys.

Samson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Louisville Jockeys in hits. Jaret Humphrey led Louisville Jockeys with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with four stolen bases.

Johnathon led Owensboro RiverDawgs with two hits in two at-bats.
