Hoptown Hoppers Loses Lead Early In Defeat

 

Hoptown Hoppers fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 26-4 loss to Bowling Green Pistons on Tuesday. Bowling Green Pistons took the lead on a single in the first inning.

The Hoptown Hoppers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Bowling Green Pistons, giving up 26 runs.

Bowling Green Pistons opened up scoring in the first inning. Tyler Boyd singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Hoptown Hoppers put up four runs in the fourth inning. Chase Cummings and Manuel Villalobos powered the big inning with RBIs.

Bowling Green Pistons scored 12 runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by Bowling Green Pistons was led by Jordan Miller, Charlie Teel, Jacoby Radcliffe, Matthew Jenkinson, Sadir Ryan, and Zen Hiatt, all driving in runs in the inning.

Kalcey White was the winning pitcher for Bowling Green Pistons. The fireballer surrendered four runs on six hits over four innings, striking out one and walking one. Edwin DeLaCruz threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. DeLaCruz recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Bowling Green Pistons.

Dylan Eaton took the loss for Hoptown Hoppers. The righty allowed four hits and five runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one.

Hoptown Hoppers saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game. Sam Perkins and Stephen Bell each racked up multiple hits for Hoptown Hoppers. Bell and Perkins all had two hits to lead Hoptown Hoppers. Hoptown Hoppers was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Fred Fernandez made the most plays with 12.

Bowling Green Pistons tallied 14 hits in the game. Cameron Bird, Ryan, Jenkinson, Hiatt, and Miller all had multiple hits for Bowling Green Pistons.
