Late Score Costs Hoptown Hoppers Against Fulton Railroaders

 

Hoptown Hoppers stayed in it until the end, but Fulton Railroaders pulled away late in a 3-1 victory on Wednesday. The game was tied at one with Fulton Railroaders batting in the top of the ninth when an error scored one run for Fulton Railroaders.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Fulton Railroaders pitchers struck out six, while Hoptown Hoppers sat down 12.

Hoptown Hoppers opened up scoring in the first inning, when Dom Oliverio singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Giffen Paige threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Angel Larranza recorded the last 15 outs to earn the save for Fulton Railroaders.

John Girard took the loss for Hoptown Hoppers. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out three and walking zero.

Larranza started the game for Fulton Railroaders. The fireballer surrendered one run on four hits over five innings, striking out four Jones started the game for Hoptown Hoppers. The righthander went three innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out five

Gavin Baxter went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Hoptown Hoppers in hits.

Connor Brinkley led Fulton Railroaders with two hits in four at bats. Fulton Railroaders was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Jeremiah De La Trinidad had the most chances in the field with ten.
