Louisville Jockeys Falls To Clarksville WhirlyBirdz After Ninth Inning Score

 

Thursday's game against Clarksville WhirlyBirdz was a heartbreaker for Louisville Jockeys, as they lost the lead late in a 13-10 defeat. The game was tied at ten with Clarksville WhirlyBirdz batting in the top of the ninth when Philip Pritchett induced Dett Dettwiller to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Despite the loss, Louisville Jockeys did collect 15 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Clarksville WhirlyBirdz had 19 hits on the way to victory.

Louisville Jockeys fired up the offense in the first inning, when Max Lane's sac fly scored one run for Louisville Jockeys.

Louisville Jockeys put up three runs in the second inning. William Lybrook, Jacob Adams, and Jarrett Chapman each had RBIs in the frame.

Jack Torbett earned the win for Clarksville WhirlyBirdz. The fireballer went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out four. Marshall Robinson threw five innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Josh Hua toed the rubber for Louisville Jockeys. The lefty went one inning, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out one and walking one.

Grant Donkin started the game for Clarksville WhirlyBirdz. The pitcher lasted two innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out three

Louisville Jockeys racked up 15 hits. Austin Taylor, Chapman, Landon Dismang, Adams, and Lybrook each managed multiple hits for Louisville Jockeys. Taylor went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Louisville Jockeys in hits.

Clarksville WhirlyBirdz racked up 19 hits on the day. Heath Owen, Alec Beaman, Cade Hitson, Andrew Jordan, Caleb Mulchaly, Dettwiller, Sanchez-Harris , and Merrick Carter all managed multiple hits for Clarksville WhirlyBirdz. Owen led Clarksville WhirlyBirdz with four hits in five at bats. Clarksville WhirlyBirdz didn't commit a single error in the field. Owen had 14 chances in the field, the most on the team.
