Fulton Railroaders Defeats Madisonville Miners, 5-3

 

Fulton Railroaders beat Madisonville Miners 5-3 on Thursday.

In the top of the fourth inning, Madisonville Miners tied things up at one when Nazhir Bergen singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Fulton Railroaders pulled away for good with four runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Charlie Ferbet singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run and Kylan Hornbuckle homered on a 0-2 count, scoring three runs.

Jack Hagen got the win for Fulton Railroaders. The ace surrendered one run on five hits over five and a third innings, striking out five and walking one. Kylan Stepter and Jackson Garrett entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Stepter recorded the last eight outs to earn the save for Fulton Railroaders.

Tait Lakin took the loss for Madisonville Miners. The lefthander went four and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out six.

Fulton Railroaders launched two home runs on the day. Hornbuckle had a four bagger in the fifth inning. Bennett Detrude went for the long ball in the third inning.

Ferbet led Fulton Railroaders with two hits in four at bats. Fulton Railroaders was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Emery Wright made the most plays with 11.

Madisonville Miners had eight hits in the game. Connor O'Connell and Will Vance each had multiple hits for Madisonville Miners.
