Dubois County Bombers Defeats Muhlenberg County Stallions Despite Allowing 3-Run Inning

 

Muhlenberg County Stallions scored three runs in the ninth inning, but Dubois County Bombers still won 9-4 on Friday. JT Smallwood, Ethan Rothschild, and Noah Phillips all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Dubois County Bombers got things moving in the second inning, when Josh Russell homered on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Dubois County Bombers scored six runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Gabriel Medina and Brevin Brisack, a sac fly by Anthony Jerrell, a home run by Caden Petrey, and a double by Oliver Hamilton.

Cooper Chinn was credited with the victory for Dubois County Bombers. The pitcher lasted one inning, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out one and walking zero. Willis McCarter, Aidan Williams, and Bobby Fowler all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Brody Niebrugge took the loss for Muhlenberg County Stallions. The pitcher surrendered nine runs on ten hits over four innings, striking out four.

Thomas King started the game for Dubois County Bombers. King went four innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out six

Dubois County Bombers hit two home runs on the day. Russell put one out in the second inning. Petrey went deep in the fourth inning.

Dubois County Bombers racked up 11 hits in the game. Petrey, Russell, Brisack, and Carter Whitehead all managed multiple hits for Dubois County Bombers. Whitehead, Brisack, Russell, and Petrey each collected two hits to lead Dubois County Bombers.

Kadin Ray led Muhlenberg County Stallions with two hits in four at bats.
