Madisonville Miners Clinches Lead In Seventh Inning To Defeat Paducah Chiefs

Madisonville Miners took the lead late and defeated Paducah Chiefs 8-4 on Saturday. The game was tied at four with Madisonville Miners batting in the bottom of the seventh when Michael Morales singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Madisonville Miners opened up scoring in the second inning when Alex DiVito doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

After Paducah Chiefs scored one run in the top of the third, Madisonville Miners answered with one of their own. Madisonville Miners then answered when Brayden Taylor hit a solo homer.

Taylor pitched Madisonville Miners to victory. The righty lasted five innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out five. Reid Gongwer threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Cory Cissell took the loss for Paducah Chiefs. The pitcher surrendered four runs on four hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking zero.

Bryant Byrd started the game for Paducah Chiefs. The hurler allowed seven hits and four runs over five innings, striking out three Ryan Miller started the game for Madisonville Miners. The pitcher surrendered three runs on five hits over three innings

Madisonville Miners hit one home run on the day. Taylor had a four bagger in the third inning.
