Dubois County Bombers Clings To Victory As Clarksville WhirlyBirdz Nearly Erases 6-Run Deficit

Despite seeing its six-run lead whittled down by the end, Dubois County Bombers still held off Clarksville WhirlyBirdz for a 7-6 victory on Tuesday. Clarksville WhirlyBirdz managed five runs in the failed comeback. Carson Hepworth, Blake Merwin , Trace Horne, and Andrew Jordan all picked up RBIs in the rally.

An early lead helped propel Dubois County Bombers to victory. Dubois County Bombers scored on a groundout by Kaden Hurless in the first inning, a single by Braxton Templin in the first inning, a single by Gabriel Medina in the second inning, a passed ball during Drew Howard's at bat in the second inning, a walk by Brevin Brisack in the second inning, a walk by Frankie Sebastiano in the second inning, and a walk by Paul Osting in the second inning.

Dubois County Bombers put up five runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by Dubois County Bombers was led by Medina, Howard, Brisack, Sebastiano, and Osting, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Aidan Williams got the win for Dubois County Bombers. The pitcher went two innings, allowing one run on five hits and walking zero. Cooper Chinn and Anthony Jerrell entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Chinn recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Dubois County Bombers.

Payton Sanders took the loss for Clarksville WhirlyBirdz. The righthander lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out two.
