Paducah Chiefs Beats Madisonville Miners In Low-Scoring Affair

Both teams were strong on the hill Thursday, but Paducah Chiefs defeated Madisonville Miners 3-2. Paducah Chiefs pitchers allowed just ten hits to Madisonville Miners.

Madisonville Miners opened up scoring in the first inning. Madisonville Miners scored one run when Connor O'Connell singled.

Madisonville Miners evened things up at two in the top of the fourth inning. Wyatt Cunningham singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Paducah Chiefs pulled away for good with one run in the fifth inning. In the fifth Krayton Morse singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Jacob Overbeck pitched Paducah Chiefs to victory. The pitcher went five innings, allowing two runs on nine hits, striking out four and walking zero. Nate Boon and Colby Morse entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Boon recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Paducah Chiefs.

Schon Pespisa took the loss for Madisonville Miners. Pespisa surrendered three runs on ten hits over eight innings, striking out five and walking one.

Paducah Chiefs racked up ten hits in the game. Morse, Gunnar Bingham, and Christian Beal each collected multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs. Beal, Bingham, and Morse each collected two hits to lead Paducah Chiefs.

Madisonville Miners totaled ten hits. O'Connell, Jack Robinson, and Christian Kallaher each managed multiple hits for Madisonville Miners. Madisonville Miners didn't commit a single error in the field. Ben Comes had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
