Dong Joon Shin was bad news for opposing pitchers on Friday, driving in four on three hits to lead Madisonville Miners past Dubois County Bombers 12-9 on Friday. Shin drove in runs on a home run in the fourth and a groundout in the fifth.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Madisonville Miners collected 14 hits and Dubois County Bombers 13 in the high-scoring affair

Dubois County Bombers got things started in the second inning when Braxton Templin singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Madisonville Miners pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Christian Kallaher hit a solo homer and Connor O'Connell singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Madisonville Miners notched five runs in the fourth inning. Will Vance, Shin, and Kade Hinton powered the big inning with RBIs.

Dubois County Bombers scored four runs in the fifth inning. Dubois County Bombers batters contributing to the big inning included Josh Newton and Dalton Wasson, who all drove in runs.

Gabriel Salazar took the win for Madisonville Miners. The righty went three innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out three and walking one. River Terry and Schon Pespisa entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Aidan Williams took the loss for Dubois County Bombers. The lefty went three and a third innings, allowing eight runs on ten hits, striking out two and walking one.

Evan Price started the game for Madisonville Miners. The southpaw went four innings, allowing two runs on six hits, striking out two and walking zero

Madisonville Miners socked three home runs on the day. Kallaher went deep in the third inning. Vance put one out in the fourth inning. Shin went for the long ball in the fourth inning.

Madisonville Miners tallied 14 hits. Shin, Vance, Ben Comes, Kallaher, and Nazhir Bergen each managed multiple hits for Madisonville Miners. Shin went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Madisonville Miners in hits.
