A double by Max Martin after a 6-pitch at-bat put Hoptown Hoppers on the board in the top of the second.

Madisonville Miners jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Payton Stephenson doubled, and Preston Bedford singled, each scoring one run.

Hoptown Hoppers flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring five runs on two hits to take a 6-2 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Hadley Smith on the sixth pitch of the at-bat that drove in two.

Hoptown Hoppers scored six runs on three hits in the top of the fifth inning. Grant Snider drew a walk, scoring one run, Smith was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Kolby Webb hit a grand slam to left field.

Dalton Sisson earned the win for Hoptown Hoppers. The righty gave up seven hits and five runs (four earned) over six innings, striking out three and walking one. Christian Howe took the loss for Madisonville Miners. The right-handed pitcher went three and one-third innings, surrendering four runs on three hits, striking out one and walking three.

Oliver Clark and Stephenson were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Madisonville Miners. Stephenson went 2-for-4 at the plate as the infielder led the team with three runs batted in. Madisonville Miners turned three double plays in the game.

Hoptown Hoppers accumulated 10 hits in the game. Webb provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Hoptown Hoppers with four runs batted in. They went 2-for-5 on the day. Webb, Martin, and Smith each collected two hits for Hoptown Hoppers. Snider paced Hoptown Hoppers with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game.

Madisonville Miners play at home on Saturday against Henderson Flash in their next game.
