Chiefs Top Flash in Henderson 6-5
Paducah Chiefs built a 6-run lead in the first inning and then held off Henderson Flash's charge for a 6-5 victory on Sunday. Henderson Flash closed the gap by scoring on a sacrifice fly, a walk, a sacrifice fly, and a double play.
Paducah Chiefs jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Luke Dymond singled, scoring two runs, Ayden Terry singled, scoring one run, Colin McClure singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Parker Price was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.
Hayden Alexander led things off on the hill for Paducah Chiefs. The southpaw surrendered three hits and three runs over two innings, striking out three and walking none. Hayden Choate started on the hill for Henderson Flash. They gave up four hits and six runs (four earned) over two-thirds of an inning, striking out none and walking two. Connor Preisel pitched three innings of shutout ball for Paducah Chiefs in relief. The lefty allowed two hits, striking out three and walking none.
Paducah Chiefs piled up 12 hits in the game. Dymond drove the middle of the lineup, leading Paducah Chiefs with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-5 on the day. Price led Paducah Chiefs with three hits in four at bats. Terry and Danny Rollins each collected multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs. Paducah Chiefs turned two double plays in the game.
Logan Lacey and Tyson LeBlanc were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Henderson Flash while hitting back-to-back. Nate York and LeBlanc each drove in one run for Henderson Flash. Henderson Flash turned two double plays in the game.
The Flash get back in action on Monday night against the Railroaders in Fulton. Next up for Paducah Chiefs is a game against Hoptown Hoppers on Tuesday afer a day off on Monday.
