Henderson Flash Fall To Madisonville Miners 8-3

Henderson Flash lost to Madisonville Miners 8-3 on Tuesday.

Madisonville Miners got on the board in the first inning after a wild pitch scored one run.

Andrew Lee walked, which helped Henderson Flash tie the game at one in the bottom of the third.

In the bottom of the fourth, Henderson Flash broke up the tie when Dane DeWees doubled, scoring one run. Then a walk by Tyson LeBlanc followed to extend the lead to 3-1.

Madisonville Miners flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring five runs on three hits to take a 7-3 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to right field by Preston Bedford that drove in three.

Corbin Gillentine earned the win for Madisonville Miners. They surrendered one hit and three runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking five. Logan Haslam took the loss for Henderson Flash. The right-handed pitcher went three and one-third innings, giving up five runs (zero earned) on two hits, striking out six and walking one. Justin Stimpson stepped on the bump first for Henderson Flash. The right-handed pitcher surrendered two hits and one run over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking two.

DeWees led Henderson Flash with one run batted in. The center fielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Brock Lummus went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Henderson Flash in hits. Logan Lacey paced Henderson Flash with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Lacey stole two bases. Henderson Flash ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game.

Jace Parnin set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Madisonville Miners with three hits in six at bats. Bedford led Madisonville Miners with three runs batted in.
