Fulton Railroaders Come Up Short Against Paducah Chiefs
Fulton Railroaders lost to Paducah Chiefs 7-4 on Thursday at 101 Thedford Street.
Paducah Chiefs were the first to get on the board in the fourth when an error scored one run.
Fulton Railroaders captured the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the sixth when Diego Duque singled, scoring one run, Garrett Taylor was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Mason Cook hit a sacrifice fly, scoring two runs.
Paducah Chiefs jumped back into the lead in the top of the seventh inning after Will Gibbs singled, and David Limbach walked, each scoring one run.
Bryant Byrd earned the win for Paducah Chiefs. The right-handed pitcher surrendered five hits and four runs (three earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out seven and walking three. Silas Jones took the loss for Fulton Railroaders. They went six and one-third innings, surrendering five runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out two and walking one.
Duque, Garner Anderson, and Charlie Ferbet each collected two hits for Fulton Railroaders. Duque, Cook, and Taylor each drove in one run for Fulton Railroaders.
Paducah Chiefs accumulated nine hits in the game. Nathan Lang, Limbach, and Gibbs each collected two hits for Paducah Chiefs. Limbach and Gibbs each drove in two runs for Paducah Chiefs.
Fulton Railroaders will travel to Madisonville Miners for their next game on Friday, while the Chiefs host the Henderson Flash on Friday night.
