Flash Explode on Miners 14-2 at EKS Sunday Night

Madisonville Miners had trouble keeping up with Henderson Flash in a 14-2 loss on Sunday.

Henderson Flash were the first to get on the board in the first when Tyson LeBlanc hit a solo home run to left field.

Payton Stephenson was struck by a pitch, which helped Madisonville Miners tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

A double by Preston Bedford gave Madisonville Miners the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the third.

Henderson Flash took the lead in the top of the fourth. Brock Lummus doubled, scoring two runs, to give Henderson Flash the upper hand, 3-2.

Henderson Flash scored seven runs on two hits in the top of the sixth inning. Wyatt Bowling drew a walk, scoring one run, Dane DeWees was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Taylor Head drew a walk, scoring one run, LeBlanc hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Ellis Hurt singled, scoring two runs, and one run scored on a balk.

Kaden Heatherly began the game for Madisonville Miners. They allowed four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Justin Stimpson stepped on the mound first for Henderson Flash. The right-handed pitcher gave up two hits and two runs over three innings, striking out one and walking two.

Bedford went 1-for-3 at the plate as the outfielder led the team with one run batted in. Parker Mathis, Brady Cooper, Fred Fernandez, Brandon Gibson, and Bedford each collected one hit for Madisonville Miners. Bedford stole two bases.

Henderson Flash piled up 11 hits in the game. LeBlanc provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Henderson Flash with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Hurt went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Henderson Flash in hits. Lummus collected two hits for Henderson Flash in four at bats. Henderson Flash had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Henderson Flash turned two double plays in the game. Henderson Flash didn't commit a single error in the field. LeBlanc had the most chances in the field with nine.

Madisonville Miners welcome Paducah Chiefs on Monday for their next game. The Flash are off on Monday.
