Flash Down Hoppers 9-0 in Hoptown

Henderson Flash defeated Hoptown Hoppers 9-0 on Tuesday thanks in part to five runs in the eighth inning.

Henderson Flash got on the board in the top of the first inning after Tyson LeBlanc tripled, and Hoptown Hoppers committed an error, each scoring one run.

Henderson Flash scored five runs on four hits in the top of the eighth inning. Dane DeWees singled, scoring one run, LeBlanc doubled, scoring two runs, and Logan Lacey singled, scoring two runs.

Dalton Sisson opened the game for Hoptown Hoppers. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and three runs (two earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking four. Josh Kuhns led things off on the hill for Henderson Flash. The right-handed pitcher gave up eight hits and one run over five innings, striking out four and walking two.

Kolby Webb led Hoptown Hoppers with two hits in four at bats. Braden Pingel stole two bases. Hoptown Hoppers turned one double play in the game.

Henderson Flash accumulated 14 hits in the game. LeBlanc drove the middle of the lineup, leading Henderson Flash with three runs batted in. They went 4-for-5 on the day. Crawford Courville, DeWees, Taylor Head, and Lacey each collected multiple hits for Henderson Flash. Head stole two bases. Henderson Flash worked the count all day, tallying six walks. Henderson Flash ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game. Henderson Flash turned two double plays in the game. Henderson Flash were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Ian Reagan had the most chances in the field with nine.

Hoptown Hoppers will travel to Madisonville Miners for their next game on Thursday, while the Flash host the Chiefs on Wednesday night.
