Madisonville Miners Come Up Short Against Fulton Railroaders
Madisonville Miners got on the board in the first inning after Nazhir Bergen singled, scoring two runs.
Garner Anderson hit into a double play, which helped Fulton Railroaders tie the game at two in the top of the sixth.
Fulton Railroaders took the lead, 5-2, in the top of the seventh thanks to singles by Alejandro Quiles, and Carson Cochran.
Brock Arender earned the win for Fulton Railroaders. The reliever gave up four hits and zero runs over five and one-third innings, striking out nine and walking two. Corbin Gillentine took the loss for Madisonville Miners. They went six innings, surrendering five runs (four earned) on five hits, striking out two and walking three. Gary Baker began the game for Fulton Railroaders. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and two runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking five. Drake DeFreitas earned the save.
Bergen and Brady Cooper each drove in one run for Madisonville Miners. Madisonville Miners had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 10 walks for the game. Cason Troutman and Brayden Taylor led the team with two bases on balls each. Pete Britton stole two bases. Madisonville Miners turned two double plays in the game.
Quiles, Fulton Railroaders's number seven hitter, led the team with three hits in four at-bats. Cochran and Quiles each drove in two runs for Fulton Railroaders. Anderson stole two bases.
