4 Pitchers Work Together As Hoptown Hoppers Shut Out Henderson Flash

Hoptown Hoppers defeated Henderson Flash 5-0 on Friday as four pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Colton Lovelace, Braden Canaan, Harrison Waxley, and Payton Armour each pitched for Hoptown Hoppers in the game. Lovelace struck out Brock Lummus to get the last out.

Esteban Sepulveda collected three hits in three at bats in the win. Sepulveda doubled in the second inning, doubled in the first inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

Hoptown Hoppers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Kolby Webb singled, and Brayden Eftink doubled, each scoring one run.

A double by Sepulveda extended the Hoptown Hoppers lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

Armour started the game for Hoptown Hoppers. The starting pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out nine and walking one. J.D. Willis opened the game for Henderson Flash. The southpaw gave up eight hits and four runs over three innings, striking out three and walking none. Lovelace, Canaan, and Waxley each came on in relief for Hoptown Hoppers and shutdown Henderson Flash.

Hoptown Hoppers piled up 12 hits in the game. John Kiebler, Brayden Blevins, and Webb each collected multiple hits for Hoptown Hoppers.

Lummus, Logan Lacey, and Ellis Hurt each collected one hit for Henderson Flash. Henderson Flash were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Taylor Head had the most chances in the field with seven.

Hoptown Hoppers will travel to Madisonville Miners for their next game on Sunday.
