Fulton Railroaders Loses Despite Out Hitting Madisonville Miners
Doubleheader Game 1
Fulton Railroaders fell 3-1 to Madisonville Miners on Tuesday despite out-hitting them nine to seven. Garrett Taylor led Fulton Railroaders with three hits.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Madisonville Miners pitchers struck out 10, while Fulton Railroaders sat down five.
Madisonville Miners opened the scoring in the second after Preston Bedford drew a walk, scoring one run.
Diego Duque homered to right field, which helped Fulton Railroaders tie the game at one in the bottom of the seventh.
Madisonville Miners captured the lead, 3-1, in the top of the ninth after Brayden Taylor singled, and Fred Fernandez hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Luke Connors earned the win for Madisonville Miners. They gave up zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one. Emillo Duque took the loss for Fulton Railroaders. The reliever went five and two-thirds innings, allowing one run (zero earned) on five hits, striking out four and walking one. Gary Baker led things off on the mound for Fulton Railroaders. They gave up two hits and one run over three and one-third innings, striking out one and walking six. Jace Parnin stepped on the hill first for Madisonville Miners. The righty surrendered four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one.
