Henderson Flash Takes Victory Over Owensboro RiverDawgs In A High-Scoring Affair
Bats were blistered as Henderson Flash defeated Owensboro RiverDawgs 13-8 on Sunday.
Owensboro RiverDawgs fired up the offense in the first inning. EJ Clark singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
After Owensboro RiverDawgs scored one run in the top of the fifth, Henderson Flash answered with one of their own. Owensboro RiverDawgs scored when Ethan Plyer hit a solo homer. Henderson Flash then answered when Brandon Davis induced Kyle LaVanchy to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
Henderson Flash pulled away for good with nine runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Ryan Dos Santos homered on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Zach Thomas hit a solo homer, Drew Dalton drew a walk, scoring one run, Casey Sorg drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored two runs for Henderson Flash, and Thomas singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
Owensboro RiverDawgs scored three runs in the second inning. Owensboro RiverDawgs scored its runs on a home run by James Denten.
Nick Coleman was on the mound for Henderson Flash. Coleman went two innings, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out two.
Garrett Whitticker toed the rubber for Owensboro RiverDawgs. Whitticker went three and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on five hits and striking out one. Reece Davis, Davis, and Braydon Mundy each contributed in relief for Owensboro RiverDawgs.
